What is Whare Ora?

Whare Ora is a community-driven kaupapa | program aimed at offering healthy, affordable, and accessible housing solutions to local residents in Te Tairawhiti.

Each whare | home has been created to ensure a comfortable living environment for its whanau | occupants. These whare were also designed to comply with and surpass the insulation R rating requirements in November (2022). With a strong focus on quality these homes come fully insulated, boasting double-glazed aluminium windows, smoke alarms, and carpeted interiors.

Off-grid solar options are available at an additional cost, as are the white interiors seen in some of the photos.
