Whare Ora

Whare Ora is a project focused on providing healthy, affordable and accessible housing to our local people.

Our Whare Awhina model are designed to go onto sections with existing dwellings with already consented buildings that have services. Material, labour and administrative cost of $61,947 delivered onsite within Gisborne area, (other areas on as per basis), includes foundations, stairs/ small deck, gutter and downpipe. They are 8m long by 3.6m wide. It is an open room with windows on all side which are all opening for cross ventilation, they come with carpet, LED lights and power points. Option for caravan plug is avaliable. Comes with Electrical COC.

These units do not require building consent.

There is an option to split into two rooms with 2 ranch sliders. POA.

Our Whare Aroha model are stand alone minor dwellings, these have fully functioning bathroom with Large 900mm x 1200mm shower, vanity, Flushing toilet, Kitchenette, Gas Califont and come with all permits, certificates. They are signed off by Gisborne District Council with Code of Compliance, Plumbing and Gas Cert, Electrical COC. These are priced at $90,700. They include piles, Delivery (up to $1200) 8m long by 3.6m wide.

The Whare Aroha requires an on site building consent, which includes site layout, pile design and drainage plan. This is not included in total cost but we can help with this if you require.

Our Whare Tiaki is a 12m one bedroom 43m2. This includes full size kitchen with island bench, large bathroom with laundry. Separate living area and bedroom. 12m long by 3.6m wide. This is priced at $158,700. Includes piles and $2000 towards moving costs. Price to move outside of Gisborne on request.

The Whare Tiaki requires On site building consent and geotech. We can help with this.

Our Torohanga Whare is a 6m x 3.6m cabin that has a single bedroom and large bathroom with laundry. This comes with Building Code of Compliance, the same as the Whare Aroha. This is $62,100. Does not include washing machine.

All models are fully insulated, Double glazed Aluminium windows, all opening windows, smoke alarms, carpet, they will comply and exceed with the new insulation R rating requirements coming into force in November.

We have off grid Solar options available. P.O.A
