Hikurangi Group Community Roadshow

Hikurangi Group, a collective of entities dedicated to regional economic development, is this week updating East Coast communities on recent progress through a series of lunchtime public meetings.

Charitable company Hikurangi Enterprises will provide updates on plans for an East Coast carbon farming cooperative, social housing and shared services company. Hikurangi Bioactives will present an update on kānuka and kina research along with details of a process to develop robust Intellectual Property framework with landowners involved in product development. Hikurangi Cannabis Company will provide an overview on the pharmaceuticals factory being built near Ruatoria and Waiapu Investments will speak to plans for a second local investment offer next year.

The roadshow starts today (Monday 15 October) in Te Araroa with a meeting tomorrow (Tuesday 16 October) at Hati Nati Cafe in Ruatoria, on Wednesday at The Haven in Tokomaru Bay, Thursday at the Tolaga Bay Inn and Friday at Te Rau College in Temple Street, Gisborne. The one hour hui start at midday with refreshments to follow.
